Knowing that the opportunity was there to fly in the rare Polish built Wilga seaplane whilst spending a few days on the Sunshine Coast, it was something I simply had to do. The booking process (done several months in advance) was simple and easy, and from then on it was just down to the weather forecast on the day.
Luckily for my flight the weather couldn’t have been better, and the pilot Shawn was very informative, friendly and professional throughout the whole process from the pre-flight brief through to exiting the aircraft at the end of the flight.
Even if you’re not an aviation ‘nut’ like myself, this adventure is well worth doing to see the SC from above whilst in a very unusual aircraft, plus the added bonus of taking off and landing from the water…
